From Where I Sit…

It’s hard to believe that it’s July already. Having spent most of the last three months ‘trapped’ near Detroit on a work project, I’ve somewhat lost track of things locally. Many thanks to David for running last month’s meeting. I don’t know what happened at the Union Hall, but we’ll get that straightened out before our September meeting there.

I’m hoping to see a big turnout for our annual picnic. Along with the picnic we’ll have the latest Paul Houseman Award for first generation Mustangs, this year’s Neal Decker Scholarship presentation, and a tribute to Bob Kersey. A thank you in advance goes to those who have volunteered to help with the picnic.

Don’t forget! If you want to enter your car in our show this year, you must enter before the end of the picnic. Also, here is this month’s whine...we still need door prizes! Please bring your donations to the picnic...don’t wait until the last minute. There’s more work to getting the door prizes ready than first meets the eye, and it takes more time than you’d think.

See you at the park!

Minutes from April 14, 2008 meeting:

Treasurer Dave Yoder opened the meeting with a welcome to members and guests. President Art Campbell was out of town..

Only 2 cars attended the Hooters event, but the weather was bad.

Don't forget the club PICNIC on our July 14th meeting night. Bring a dish to share and come to Twin Branch Park in Mishawaka at 6 P.M. (So. Bend time) Bob Relos and Bob Goeller have offered their culinary services and will be presiding at the grill.

June 2008 Minutes (continued)

Show Committeeman Carl Kindig is working with using some of last year's trophies and fewer T-shirts will be ordered this year since we have had so many left over. He asked for suggestions for a shirt design for our club's 25th Anniversary this year. There was a show committee meeting after the regular meeting. All members are invited to attend these meetings.

George Wachs reported that the Mishawaka Grand Prix race has been moved to June 27th and 28th.

The Show and Shine at Bremen will be on June 28th from 9-1. Jane and Dave Yoder had graciously invited all members for breakfast at their home that morning at 8.

Brad reported that he is still waiting for a price on the club sweatshirts and shirts.

There will be a parade in Bremen on July 4th.

Rose McClure is still waiting for more of your delicious recipes for our club cookbook. She has at least 200, but would like to see more.

DOOR PRIZES !! DOOR PRIZES !! DOOR PRIZES ***************DOOR PRIZES ***************DOOR PRIZES FOR OUR SHOW ON AUGUST 9. They can be car-related or not. We need at least 150. If every member brings 2, we should have enough. Bring them to the picnic.

The $23.00 50/50 was won by one of the waitresses at the restaurant. Thanks to them, including Brad's cousin, and the manager for taking care of our well-behaved bunch.

The meeting was adjourned.

I still have 5 like new P195/75R 14" tires for sale, white wall.

One has NEVER been on the ground; still have the wear tips on yet.

The other 4 have 4/32" wear left on them. They are already off the rims.

For anyone who is a club member of M.C.A. or Ohio Classic Mustang Club I will sell them ALL 5 for $175.00..(That's $35. ea.)

Four of them are SEARS tires & one is a Cooper Tire, but all of them match..

Remember this is the last year where you can get these tires from local dealers, ‘cause they will no longer make 14" tire.

After this year, if you are looking for 14" tires, they will be harder to find.

If anyone what these tire, they can e-mail me at phigley@srscnet.com

Still have a 289 Engine (Block, heads & intake..)
