Minutes from March 10, 2008 meeting:

President Art Campbell opened the meeting and welcomed new member Matt Craven. Matt had picked up our club membership application at the Cavalcade of Wheels.

Members and guests present were:

Art Anderson Rose and Hal McClure
Scott Anderson Brad Milliken
Howard Barrett Charlotte and Ron Newcomer
Art Campbell Elizabeth, Shelby & Chris Pasternak
Carol & Dave Cooper Kevin Price
Matthew Craven Diane and Ken Reed
Alex Denysenko Jim and June Schmidt
Lola & Terry Gunderman Becky and Ken Schmitt
Loretta & Harold Jedrzyjewski Mona and Dick Spitaels
Rob Killingsworth Mark Taelman
Carl Kindig Shirley & Larry Weaver
Sandy & Joe Kraatz Alan Wright
Valerie Frances Malecki Jane and David Yoder

The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as written and the treasurer's report was also approved.

MCA Regional Director Jim Schmidt had no news to report.

A thank-you note was read from Elaine Kersey, thanking the club for flowers sent and members for cards and personal visits made at the passing of her husband, Bob Kersey.

Sweatshirts with our club logo can still be ordered at the next meeting.

Harold Jedrzyjewski reported that things are almost ready for our club's display at the Cavalcade of Wheels at Notre Dame, on March 29th and 30th.

From the Care Corner: Bonnie Higley is getting better after breaking her hip. She is now at home and hopes to be up and ready for the car show season.

March 2008 Minutes (continued)

The Neal Decker Scholarship application deadline was March 1st. There was one applicant, Katie Yoder, who will receive the scholarship. Applications are always available on the club's website.

Mona still needs recipes for the club cookbook.

Larry Weaver introduced Joe Reinke, a sales representative from Eby Ford of Goshen. They would like our club to have a Show and Shine again this year, with some trophies given. They would have space for 20-25 cars. They suggested dates of June 14 or 21, or July 12. Most members felt that the July date would be best.

Applications for the Brown County Spring Fling have been mailed to those who attended last year. Art had applications available at our meeting. That event is the weekend of May 16th. Several members plan to attend. A sign-up sheet will be passed around at the April meeting.

Ballots were passed out for voting for the organization to receive some of our club's show funds. Alan Denysenko made a suggestion that we include the Fireman's Union on that ballot for the reasonably priced meals that they serve us and for letting us use their hall with no rental charge. Upon counting the ballots, the firemen won the vote.

Jane and Dave Yoder reported that they had a marvelous time on the Mustang Club of America cruise. They said it was a great way to meet other Mustang lovers and enjoyed their time on the ship. (There was a full story in last month's newsletter.) Of the 150 persons in the group, there were 13 couples from Indiana--more than any other state!

Joe Kraatz is going through his Mustang stuff at home and had several older posters to give away.

Show chairman, Carl Kindig will pass out signup sheets for show workers at our next meeting. The show is planned for August 9, 2008 at the Concord Mall. A short show meeting was held after our regular meeting.

50/50 Winners were Al Denysenko - $28.50. Other car products and shirts were won by Larry Weaver, Art Anderson, and Carl Kindig, who took a carwash kit (for Brenda to use.)

A motion was made and passed that we adjourn.

PIZZA PARTY

Time for a fun get together with the Michiana Mustangs. Let's hope for good weather and break out the cars and head to Bruno’s for some pizza. The day is Saturday, April 12th at Bruno’s at 2610 Prairie Ave., South Bend. Their phone number is 574-288-3320. They open at 4:00PM and that's the time to be there. They have great pizza and other Italian food as well. Hope you can make it. Any questions call Brad at 574-674-4321.

MUSTANG BIRTHDAY PARTY

Almost everyone knows that the Mustang was unveiled at the New York Worlds Fair on April 17, 1964. So, time to celebrate once again at Mustang McDonalds on Grape Rd., Mishawaka. Be there at 6:00 PM for some birthday cake and bring the Mustangs. Hopefully, I can get them to give us a special like last year. Plus, we can celebrate Chris Pasternak's BD at the same time! Hope you can make this one as well.

HOT OFF THE BLOGISHPERE

I received an Email from Virginia Classic Mustang recently asking if I'd agree to have our purple '67 put on their Blog. I said OK and sent them some pictures and a brief write up. So on March 27th they put it up on their Blog. They told me that it would be on their site as long as I'd like it to be there. The site is: http://blog.virginiaclassicmustang.com. Then go to "Customer Cars" or just scroll down on their site.

We're looking forward to getting back with the group. We plan to be back in Indiana by April 23rd.
